There are many different kinds of roaches. Some people even call them water bugs. The German roach is by far the most common roach found in homes, apartments and restaurants.
They are small (about 5/8”), brown, move really fast, like the dark and breed like crazy. Cockroaches have been linked to many different diseases and even childhood asthma. Roaches need three things to survive: food, water and harborage. Improved sanitation is the key to long-term control.
Control Measures
Proper long-term control starts with an inspection to determine the specific areas of infestation. Next, the customer should be advised about the proper methods of sanitation to limit roach access to food, water and harborage. Treatment should include residual spraying, baiting or monitoring or combinations of all methods.
